The quiet village of Trefecca, which was the birthplace of Welsh Methodism, retains the gentle pace of times gone by, and it’s both refreshing and relaxing to wander the sleepy lanes, breathing in the clean, fresh air and taking in the rugged beauty of the Brecon Beacons. Just down the road is Talgarth, a pretty market town with several interesting buildings, including the recently restored Talgarth Mill, which now includes a lovely cafe and a small gift shop. Further afield, the towns of Abergavenny, Brecon and Crickhowell all have their own unique charms, and a day spent exploring them is well worthwhile.
